Sarah and Cory's Wedding - Green Bay Botanical Garden & Olde 41 | Green Bay, WI

Rain wouldn't soak Sarah and Cory's vision for their wedding day.  It went off without a hitch!

The Wedding Couple | Engagement Photos at Riverside Park - Neenah, WI

Sarah and Cory are about two of the most easy people to get along with.  Sarah’s bright bubbly manner and Cory’s unwavering smirk make these two a couple that is always ready to have a good time.

Sarah is a huge Green Bay Packer fan.  Cory is a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan.  How do they make this work?  A lot of love.  And a little denial.

For Sarah and Cory's engagement photos, we incorporated their love for football, their teams...and most of all, each other.  We got lucky and scheduled a perfect day for photos at Riverside Park in Neenah, WI.

The Wedding Ceremony | Green Bay Botanical Garden - Green Bay, WI

Sarah and Cory’s ceremony was extremely unique.  It’s not every day that one gets to:

1.  Prepare for a beautiful outdoor wedding at Green Bay Botanical Garden.

2.  Have reservations about keeping it outdoors.

3.  Thoroughly prepare for a backup.

4.  Eventually follow through with the original plan of keeping it outdoors.

5.  Have it begin to downpour right before it begins!

These two, however, hung tough.  Sarah was committed to having the wedding ceremony in the location they chose…h$%* or high water!  As the raindrops began to fall immediately before walking out, Sarah and Cory decided to hold off for a bit.  A brief break in the rain was appearing on the radar about 15 minutes after the original start time.

We all rolled the dice and waited to see what would happen.

Taking our chances paid off!  The rain began to dissipate, the wedding ceremony started, and halfway through, the skies began to clear.  It was as if Sarah and Cory’s wedding vows somehow created a love vortex around the city of Green Bay.  The rest of the day was smooth sailing after that.

Wedding Party Photos | Green Bay Botanical Garden & Lambeau Field

After the ceremony, we found no shortage of spots to photograph.  The Green Bay Botanical Garden is a wonderful spot to hold a wedding, engagement session or other event.  One can walk three feet and have the scenery completely change.

Hues of yellow, lavender, pink and white fill the lush green landscape.  Unique architecture such as Lego sculptures, metalwork and fountains adorn the entire premises.  Taking wedding and engagement photos here is easy, if you know what to do with it.

After spending some time laughing at the gardens and bantering a bit, the wedding party boarded a giant bus completely adorned with bull horns on the front.  Inside, the apple pie liquor was flowing and the party started.

Before arriving to the reception at Olde 41 Vandervest Harley Davidson, we stopped at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, WI.  This is one of my favorite spots to take Packer fans for wedding photography.  All of the ladies pulled Green Bay Packer jerseys over their heads while most of the dudes sported other, “non-acceptable” colors of teams from across the US.  We all can’t be winners, I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️.

The party continued at Lambeau with fun wedding party shots in front of the Lambeau Leap statue wall, the large “G” inscribed on the side of the atrium and in from of the “Lambeau Field” sign.  The groomsmen jerseys did serve one purpose.  If they weren’t teams that were successful in the NFL, they certainly did provide some “pops” of color 😂.

The Wedding Reception | Olde 41 at Vandervest Harley-Davidson - Green Bay, WI

The reception!  One of my favorite spots in Green Bay to photograph is Olde 41 at Vandervest Harley-Davidson on Velp Avenue in Green Bay, WI.  This unique structure is part cabin, part banquet hall, part Harley-Davidson store.  It’s incredible!

One of my favorite elements of Olde 41 is the string lights that arc beneath the large wooden beams above.  These serve as a fantastic backdrop that make wedding photos come to life.  After a bit of the apple pie liquor-induced fun started to wane and the hunger started to set in, we began our dinner provided by The Marq by Festival Foods.  I’ve worked with The Marq many times over the years and have always been impressed by their top-notch buffet-style dinners as well as their commitment to customer service.

We filled our bellies and heard many stories told by Sarah’s Uncle Mike, which included a narrative theme…Sarah’s smile.  Sarah is one of those people that smile when she’s nervous.  Or when she’s happy.  Or when she’s tired.  She smiles.  And it gets her and everyone else through whatever situation she may be in.

Did I mention that she’s a nurse?  And that she is pretty much superhuman anyway?

The evening went off without a hitch.  Wedding party guests from all over clapped their feet against the wooden floor boards and sang til their voices were hoarse.  Cousins from Chicago, relatives from across the state and elsewhere came together to celebrate these two.

Sarah and Cory have something unique; they have a family and close circle of friends that love them intensely.  It was very apparent to me immediately on their wedding day that most of the wedding party and entourage of family and friends knew each other well.  To say Sarah and Cory had an eventful wedding day is an understatement!
