Amanda and Cassie's Wedding

Amanda and Cassie were wed on October 20 with a ceremony at the Sepia Wedding Chapel and a reception at the Green Bay Distillery.

Amanda and Cassie’s Love Story:

Cassie works in sales and Amanda is a Dental Assistant. In their free time, they enjoy thrift shopping, camping, spending time outside, and spending time with friends and family. They have three very spoiled cats, or as they call them, “fur babies.” These two met over ten years ago, when they met while both working in retail.

When they got engaged, Cassie had made plans for a hike with friends who were all in on the surprise. They went to High Cliff and were walking to one of Amanda’s favorite spots. Once down there, while Amanda was taking in the scenery, when she turned around everyone was spread out behind her… That’s when Cassie got down on one knee.

The rest is history.

An Emotional Wedding Ceremony at Sepia Wedding Chapel

I was fortunate enough to meet Cassie and Amanda while photographing Amanda’s brother’s wedding.  We hit it off immediately - I got along with these two perfectly :).  They have such a great sense of humor and we immediately meshed.  So, I was extremely grateful to be asked to be their wedding photographer. These two are so very much in love; it’s clear in every image. One of the most amazing moments was the ceremony. Both Cassie and Amanda agreed that the most memorable moment of the day was when Amanda walked down the aisle.

Watching Cassie's face as she saw Amanda for the first time was one of my personal favorite moments as well. I rarely see emotion like I saw in Cassie. Her expression was one of surprise, disbelief and joy. Her eyes welled up with tears, she covered her mouth and bent down... almost as if she couldn't physically handle what she was seeing. It was one of the most heartfelt moments I've ever seen at a wedding.  Looking from behind the viewfinder, my eyes teared themselves.

Afterward, Amanda said that walking down the aisle to her future “hersband” was her favorite moment as well. I guess these two are on the same page :).  When love is this beautiful to capture, it really makes me appreciate being a wedding photographer.

A Green Bay Distillery Wedding Reception

Some of my favorite images are from the reception. Cassie and Amanda are dancing together. I can tell that these two were truly immersed in the moment. They smiled at each other non-stop smooched on and off the entire way through the dance. These two captivated the audience. The entire room's attention was focused on them. I also looked around at other guests as they were watching them. I didn't see a face that didn't have a smile... or a laugh... with how these two shared their first dance.

I also really enjoyed working with the entire wedding party at Pamperin Park in Green Bay. This group was insanely hilarious! A mixture of self-deprecating humor and sarcasm kept us all laughing the entire time. Amanda and Cassie are naturals - they smiled for the camera and took my direction carefully. I could tell that both of these ladies were fully invested in getting emotional photos... and it showed. Not only was photographing these two fun, but it was also extremely satisfying. To take photos of a couple who wear their emotions on their sleeve is so gratifying. I can tell that these two are going to look back on their photos in 10, 20, 30 years and laugh their butts off! They’ll probably cry at some, too :)

I rarely meet a couple that has this much gusto in regards to their relationship with each other. Especially a couple that has a sense of humor that these two do. I am so glad that I got to meet them at Travis and Hillary's wedding. If I hadn't, I would have never been able to share in these moments with them. I am truly glad that I have an opportunity to serve people like these two... Amanda and Cassie are the reason I keep going back for more.
