Kimberly and Josh's Wedding

Josh and Kimberly were married on June 24th, with a ceremony and reception at the Bridgewood Resort in Neenah, Wisconsin.

I was excited about this wedding because I had been able to capture their engagement pictures ahead of the wedding, so I couldn’t wait to be there for the big day. Josh proposed to Kim while they were hiking at Peninsula State Park on a bluff overlooking the water. He made sure her parents were there for the big moment, too.

And just like at the engagement, their parents were a big part of their wedding day. Kim’s parents, Mike and Diane, as well as Josh’s mother, Kay, were always on hand for the wedding prep. All of that work definitely paid off when it came to avoiding stress, but it also struck me as an amazing display of love and support.

I started out the day in the hotel room with Kim as she got ready with her entire group of bridesmaids getting excited and having fun. They seemed like such a tight-knit bunch.  Because of that, the photos we took in between the ceremony and reception really turned out phenomenal.  Not because I was taking the I made them all squeeze together for a “friends” shot outside—and it ended up being one of my favorite images of the whole day! I really enjoyed listening to all of them talk about their memories and relationships with Kim. Each of them had something special to share—and all of them were hilarious!

I also enjoyed walking around the park with the wedding party. The guys were all joking around while I was taking pictures of the ladies, and I felt right at home. I had a very similar sense of humor to the groomsmen, which made me feel like part of the group.

As for the wedding itself, one of the best moments had to be when Josh saw Kim in her dress for the first time. Kim had been talking about the dress for a while, telling him it wasn’t the typical wedding dress. By the time she walked down the aisle toward Josh, all of the guests could see the look of pure admiration in his eyes. And who could blame him? She really did look amazing.

The team at Bridgewood Resort did a wonderful job. Myranda, the wedding planner kept everything running smoothly so there was not a worry to be had through the whole day. Matt’s DJ kept the party moving and everyone out on the dance floor. The sweets from Tamara The Cake Guru looked delicious. There was so much joy in this celebration. It was a day filled with love and smiles. I was happy to be their wedding photographer.

Kimberly & Josh, not only did you both surprise me with how much detail and thought you put into the day, but you both really went above and beyond what most couples do to accommodate me. I am so happy I could do this for you. Thank you for letting me get to know not just the two of you but also your amazing families!
